The Foreword is by the very amusing and accomplished Jean Kittson-who grew up by the beach, knows her fish and whose father was a racer.
The Finword is a very quick word by Howden Ganley, the well known New Zealand born, former F1 works driver, (wet tracks a specialty), and racing car constructor.
(The book cover is casebound with silver foil on to (racing) green buckram, (once NZ’s racing colours).
The dust jacket is printed on 150gsm Advance Laser and matt laminated both sides.

The Ferrari 355 Hawk
,Classic Racing F1sh, has been going swimmingly and there are now racing f1sh lapping happily in some quite deep and distant water races as well as in our own excellent local catchments.
It has received some quite flattering reviews and responses which are much appreciated.
Thank you all.
It has also turbot boosted interest in commissioned work.
These commissions are very interesting to do as they require a fair bit of research and thought to make the most of the potential of an individual brief.
Here are two which were recently caught and released.

The Jaguar XK150 Rainbow Trout
The Fangio Golden Maserado
This f1sh –also known as the 250F-won the 1957 titles for Fingio and Maserado.
A refinement of the 1954 f1sh, this “F” was lighter and better balanced with more paua.
It was better suited to the driving style for which Fingio was admired by all –the on shore drift.
It is especially remembered for its epic, (and successful), pursuit of the two works Truttaris in the German Grocer Preis von Fisch of that year. As a feat of racecraft and courage, this matches Nuvolampri/Alfa v. Von Brauereifisch/Auto Carp in 1935
Both races were held in the treacherous waters of the Nordschleifische in the shadow of the Fischeyeful mountains.
In this illustration, the f1sh wears the colours of Argentina because it’s origins are in the Laguna Brava, near the town of Balcarce,the birthplace of its famous pilote. Also seen is the distinctive white “two into one” me gusto pipe passing on the portside of the codpit.
The Golden Maserado raced in various configurations and states of development and modification and when helmed by other distinguished pilotes .
A true classic.
Historical smelt;It was with such a fish that Fingio’s mechanic perfected his driver management technique. Grenadino Bettocchi would install a dud plug and send out the fish. The driver would come in complaining of a leak. Much pond ering and then Bettocchi would install a good plug. No leak now. Brilliant mechanic! Happy driver! No more complaints.(Useful in politics to this day.Ed)

It is remembered in the kingdom as a mostly peaceful period despite the presence of humans and two house dogs although the latter were quickly subjugated and the humans were allowed to settle to provide labour and as scribes and other officials.
